The monograph prepared by the team of the Department of Social Philosophy of the Faculty of Philosophy of Moscow State University analyzes the relevant processes of ethnic, interethnic and international integration, carried out against the background of the challenges of nationalist extremism, the socio-philosophical conceptualization of the phenomenon and concepts of the nation, nationalism, ethnic group, and people is proposed. These concepts have not yet received a complete theoretically condensed content in the framework of socio-humanitarian disciplines, were used methodologically arbitrarily and often received a clear or latent ideological load. The status of such substantial grounds at different times claimed a common language, state-political structure, general culture, general history, features of the national psychological warehouse, and national consciousness. All these criteria for the concept of an ethnic group and nation - concepts and concepts are subjected to comparative analysis, consider the possibilities of their practical application to analyze the current processes of national and ethnic consolidation. This kind of research required the socio-philosophical interpretation of the concept of society, the identification of its deep and invariant social structures, its genesis and history
