What is corruption? Assigning budget funds, sweets as a gift to doctors, salary in an envelope or buying a term paper? Without appeal to the individual perception of informal socioeconomic practices, it is impossible to answer this question.
In the present work, sociologists Elena Denisova-Shmidt and Elvira Leontyeva are attempting to describe the features of corruption experience at different levels, including individual and local.
In the focus of attention of the authors - residents of the Far Eastern Federal District and their attitude to various forms of corruption. Do the Far East see the phenomena of the same order in the abuse of bureaucratic power and the solution of their own problems through friends? How do the special geo -economic position of their region, loud corruption scandals of recent years and the "Asian vector" of Russian foreign policy affect this? The basis of the study was an overview of modern theories of corruption behavior, as well as the analysis of independent empiricism.
