This manual gives a holistic idea of the first style of modern jazz, which has developed in the United States among young African American jazmens of the 1940s. The authors - candidate of art history, associate professor of the Tyumen State Institute of Culture A.N. Fisher and candidate of art history, professor of the Ural State Conservatory named after M.P. Mussorgsky L.K. Shabalina - The Bibop style is represented as a systematic whole. His general characteristics reflect various aspects of the described artistic phenomenon: the socio-political roots of style and new aesthetic principles that changed the status of jazz and his musical language.
In individual creative portraits of the Bibop, attention is focused on the music of alt-saxophonist Ch. Parker, Trubach D. Gillespi and the pianist T. Monki. Analytical essays dedicated to the harmony of the largest masters of style will help in mastering the methodology of analyzing the works and improvisations of Jazzmen Bibop.
