The book is devoted to the analysis of the social structure of Russian society. The authors turn to a relatively new one for Russian research, but having fundamental theoretical and methodological foundations and a popular approach to the analysis of stratification on the basis of the ratio of vital chances and risks. A methodology is proposed to build a vertical model of the stratification of Russian society on the basis of taking into account a person’s place in four key areas of life - the economic situation, the situation at work, the possibilities of preserving and increasing their human potential, as well as the features of consumption and leisure. The focus of the authors in the analysis of the arrays of empirical data of two "lines" monitoring studies (RMEZ NRU HSE and Monitoring IS FNICS RAS) The specificity and dynamics of this model, the features of the everyday life of individual groups in its composition, factors that determine the differentiation of their vital chances and risks, as well as intergroup mobility.
