Ecological Principles of Material Selection in Architectural Design. Textbook

In accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard, the proposed textbook provides information on the environmental basis of the materials science, the methodological foundations of environmental assessment and the choice of materials for the construction of new housing, public and industrial buildings, reconstruction and restoration are given. Modern methods of analyzing and evaluating the environmental safety of materials according to the main stages of their life cycle according to the requirements of the international standards of "Environmental Management System of the ISO 14000 series. Examples of choosing environmentally appropriate materials for solving environmental problems in architectural projects are given. The manual is supplemented by information about the achievements of new technologies and the analysis of the properties of new types of materials - "materials of the 21st century" - in accordance with the program of the course "Architectural Material Science" and the requirements for the preparation of the Federal State Educational Standard of VPO in the direction of "Architecture".
