A small but meaningful book belongs to the pen of Doctor of Theology, historian, and professor of the Moscow Spiritual Academy, Peter Simonovich Kazansky (1819-1878), known for his outstanding works on church and civil history, as well as spiritual and educational writings intended for popular reading.

Many works by P.S. Kazansky were published anonymously. The result of the collaboration between Kazansky as an anonymous author and the spiritual writer Nikolai Vasilyevich Elagin (1817-1891) as an editor and publisher was the publication of a series of books, including "Earthly Life of the Most Holy Virgin," published in 1871 under Elagin's name.

In the pages of this book, the reader will learn about the earthly life of the Most Holy Virgin, based on Sacred Scripture, the testimonies of the holy fathers of the Church, and Sacred Tradition. The simple and accessible narrative about the Immaculate Virgin deeply penetrates the reader's soul, awakening in them a desire for moral perfection and igniting the fire of love and faith towards the Blessed Lady.

The book is intended for family and school reading and reveals the depth of the Heavenly Queen's greatness and Her ineffable mercy towards the Christian people.

Recommended for publication by the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church.

The book is prepared based on the edition "Earthly Life of the Most Holy Virgin" by N. Elagin. For popular reading. Third edition in the Synodal printing house, 1871.

This edition contains color illustrations.
