The book is a chronological continuation of the previous book "Earth under the legs of the author, which ended the topic - Eretz Israel during the First World War.
Arrival in Eretz Israel and the settlement of local lands step by step, the village of the village, the vineyard behind the vineyard - it was the strategy of those times, an urgent need, nobody imposed by anyone.
A unhurried story may not like an impatient reader, but who in the end is able to predict what event is more significantly in the history of the people, and what less? The time will determine and decompose on the shelves, the time will figure it out in everything and decides that he will take with him, and what to leave in the past, our business is to tell and tell.
Working on a book by browsing numerous materials of researchers, journalists and eyewitnesses, the author did not cease to lie down the abundance of contradictions in the description of this period of the history of Eretz Israel. On them - on historians and eyewitnesses - influenced the ideology of those times, the rejection of other views, the struggle "for the souls" in the public life of the country, and therefore in their work and memories did not every person managed to avoid "ideological temptations", analyzing events in accordance with their beliefs , with the principles of the batch to which belonged. This created for the author additional difficulties, not overcomed to the end in this book, which will be able to be able to cope in subsequent publications, if any appear.
And one more. The reader, familiar with the first book "Earth under his feet, will surely be surprised by finding some repetitions in the current narration. These repetitions are intended for the one who did not hold the previous book in their hands and only now began acquaintance with the history of settlement and mastering Eretz Israel from 1918 to 1948. It was - in the view of the author - the impressive period of the history of the "states in the way": incredible events, amazing personalities and, finally, the creation of a Jewish state, which occurred under the circumstances bordering the miracle
