The author of these memories is Peter Gordeevich Cherkasov (1913-1987) - a personnel officer of the Soviet Army. His life fell on the era of steep changes in the history of our country - civil war, the cultural revolution, collectivization, elimination of fouls as a class, Stalinist repression. Through all this was the Cherkasov family. The author was able to work as a tractor driver and brigadier, learn from the Rabatak of the Road Institute, to know the famine of 1932-1933, serve in the Trans-Baikal group of troops of a special red-known Far Eastern army.
