What did the wives of the polar explorers do at a time when their heroic husbands for months, or even years conquered the Arctic and Antarctic?
Very different women lived the same different lives. Someone was happy to share the difficulties of expeditions with her husband, and someone, staying at home, was waiting and looking for all his life.
All of them were personalities with a capital letter who did not at all become a reflection in the rays of their husbands, but, on the contrary, played an important, sometimes decisive role in their fate.
