“Wanderers of the War” is a set of memoirs of writers" children who, from the first days of the war, were evacuated at the Literary Fund"s boarding school in Chistopol. They starved, frozen and dreamed of returning to Moscow, experienced the death of older brothers and parents, ran away to the front ... But this was the time of the first love, the beginning of friendship, which, like Pushkin’s, lyceum, was preserved for life.
The book also included the stories of the three dead youths: Mura Efron, Nikita Shklovsky, Vsevolod Bagritsky.
