The name of Pavel Pavlovich Muratov, one of the most famous experts in ancient Russian painting, the bright representative of the Silver Age of the Russian culture of the early 20th century and the Russian emigration of the 1920-1940s. Still not known enough in his homeland. Being an author of such remarkable works as "Russian painting until the middle of the 17th century", the Silver Age of Old Russian Art History and many others, he made a significant scientific contribution to the study of the history of ancient Russian iconography and wall temple painting.
