Vladimir Vasilievich Stasov (1824 - 1906) - a prominent artistic and musical critic, art historian. His book Russian People"s Ornament was published in 1872 in St. Petersburg. The book introduces the Russian folk ornament in sewing, fabric and lace. In his work, V.V. Stasov expressed the idea of the significance and depth of Russian folk art, one of the first to pay attention to it.
