The correspondence between Hannah Rednid and Karl Yaspers began in 1926, when the twenty -year -old Arendt studied the philosophy of Jaspers in Heidelberg. It was interrupted with the emigration of Arenidt and the “internal emigration” of the Jaspers and resumed immediately after the end of the Second World War. The relationship of the teacher-teacher over time developed into close friendship, to which the wife of Jaspers Gertrude and her husband Arendt Henry Blucher soon joined. These letters show not only how both philosophers lived, thought and worked, but also how they perceived the post -war years. Since they did not even think that this correspondence could ever be published, and experienced absolute confidence in each other, they unexpectedly revealed in it as an individual
