The book of art critic Elena Nesterova is devoted to the partnership of mobile art exhibitions, a key in the history of domestic art of movement, which existed for more than fifty years and laid the foundation for the emergence of independent associations of the late XIX - the beginning of the twentieth centuries. The art of members of TPHV - Repin and Kramskoy, Perova and Arkhipov, Ge and Kuindzhi, Vasnetsov and Shishkin - is considered in the context of the artistic phenomena of the era. The mobile sincerity and documentary are compared with the salon beautifulness of the masters of the academic camp, the main strategies and installations of artists are revealed in different genres: portrait and landscape, household and historical picture. Based on archival sources, periodicals, epistolary heritage, Nesterov analyzes the activities of the Wanderers both as a sociological phenomenon of democratic artel, and as a new direction in art, which has developed a taste for realistic painting among private collectors, whose collections have become the basis of state museums
