The publication is dedicated to the recently departed People"s Artist of Russia Gennady Mikhailovich Dobrov (1937-2011) At the end of life, already being seriously ill, the artist creates a series of "mentally ill Russia", as a result of a graphic cycle about the dramas and tragedies of people, his contemporaries. For two years, he visits psychiatric hospitals in 10 cities of the country. In the first part of the book - drawings from Omsk, Kostroma, Kaliningrad, Blagoveshchensk, Birobidzhan, Magadan and Kamyshin. They are accompanied by the comments of the artist himself, which he did in 2003 for the publication of the album (then it did not take place) In the future, working trips continued, but the artist did not leave comments on the drawings. Therefore, in the second part of the book, the widow decided to publish his letters, which he wrote to her from everywhere in a thick notebook and handed it away when returning home.
