The book "Museum of the History of Art, Vienna" will tell the reader about one of the most interesting museum collections of painting in Europe. It was founded in 1891 by Emperor Franz Joseph, a representative of the reigning family of the Habsburgs. The formation of meetings of the museum was facilitated by the fact that many objects of art arrived in the capital of the state of Vienna from Spanish relatives, well -known patrons.
Empress Maria Teresa, it happened, bought up the whole collections, so the Austrian ruling house acquired a huge number of artisans of art. Franz Joseph continued to her initiative: his Majesty was engaged in the acquisition of the meeting with truly Austrian punctuality. In the middle of the century, he first had the idea of the need to build a building in which collections could accommodate. Especially for this, an order was given to restructure the entire historical center of the city! As a result, the building increased on the ringtrass, on which architects Gottfried Zemper and Karl Hazenaur worked. As soon as the interior decoration (it took it for almost ten years!) Was finished, and the exhibits took their places, Franz Joseph refused to remain the owner of the collections, transferring them to the state. So today museum workers, in fact, continue the path indicated by the last emperor of Austria. And the legacy left by him is impressive! The book has many remarkable reproductions that painting lovers can see only by taking a trip to Austria, and they can immediately fulfill their dream - to see the masterpieces of painting, which became the decoration of the museum
