“Leaflets from the Russian Diary” is the first book by Pitirim Sorokin, written and published in the USA in 1924. The personal experience of Sorokin, an active participant in the revolution, personal secretary A.F. Kerensky, editor of the Right-Socialist-Revolutionary newspaper The will of the people, the enemy of the Bolsheviks, who was sentenced by them to death and avoided him only thanks to the personal intervention of V.I. Lenin, who was trying to engage in “pure science” in the conditions of the Bolshevik dictatorship, who witnessed the terrible hunger, which covered Soviet Russia in 1920-1921. And massive folk speeches against the new government (Tambov and Kronstadt uprisings) - all this contributed to the fact that the book he wrote became a vivid document of the era, which today reads with unhappy interest.
