The XVII century in the history of Dutch painting is rightfully called gold, since it was during this period that paintings were created that glorified the fine art of this country. It is not surprising that the Guild of Dutch painters at that time was the most numerous: there were four times more artists here than butchers, and twice as much as bakers. The 17th -century Dutch painting is unusually interesting to the variety of topics, plots and genres - it was the "small Dutch" who finally developed such popular genres as still life, landscape, portrait and household picture.
