Correspondence between writer Clive by S. Lewis (author of the famous “Chronicle of Naartia”) and the Catholic monk Giovanni Calabria began in 1947 and lasted to the death of Calabria in 1954, after which other members of the Veronian community continued until the death of Lewis in 1963. The correspondence of the writer and the priest contains deep reasoning on different topics - from Christian unity and modern European history to the mission of a believing intellectual.
Correspondence was carried out in Latin, because Kalabria did not know English. This is an amazing example of communication on the dead, but resurrected language of two heirs of the linguistic culture of old Europe. This is evidence of the touching friendship of the writer and the monk, who never in their life have even seen each other, but hoped to meet after death. This is the anthem of fraternal love, in which "... two souls, separated by space, people, language, faith and age, were connected in pleasant communication!" This is a deep conversation and, finally, it is just a very beautiful Latin.
The text is given in parallel in two languages - the Latin original and the Russian translation
