The book is dedicated to the Parisian period of the work of the Russian artist L.S. Bakst (1866-1924), who lived in the capital of France a quarter of his life (1910-1924) and created most of the works that brought him world fame. Ballet designer in the famous "Russian seasons" S.P. Diaghilev, Bakst was first presented in the book as a scenographer of other private musical entreprise - Anna Pavlova, Ida Rubinstein, Maria Kuznetsova, as well as the Grand Opera decorator - the main musical theater of Paris. On the basis of previously not published documents, the artist is shown as a legislator of style in decorative art - in the field of fashion, creating textile ornaments, interiors" design. The book covers the last period of the artist’s work, marked by the creation of a series of monumental canvases for the mansion of the Rothschild family.
