The artist needs to know anatomy in order to correctly draw the human body both at rest and in movement. The book of an experienced anatomical illustrator Jennifer Crouch will help you master the art of image on paper. “Anatomy for artists” is an ideal illustrated reference book for both beginners and more experienced artists who seek to improve their technique.
In this practical guide, the author shows how the human body functions, starting with how the skeleton bones are connected to each other and ending with the principles of muscle and tendon work. The illustrator will also teach you how to create the desired shape and tone, how to achieve a realistic skin texture and how plausible to reflect the various poses, gestures and movements of a person. Step -by -step lessons will help you easily create accurate and realistic drawings.
The book includes the following sections:
• Anatomical terms
• Formal elements of the figure
• lines, strokes and texture
• Form, figure and volume

• tone and shadow
• Texture
• contour, pose and gestures
• proportions of the human body
• Anatomy: skeleton

• muscles and bones of limbs
• leather and subcutaneous fat
• Tolite
• Functional descriptions in anatomy < Br /> • Anatomy of the face and skull

“Anatomical drawing is much more than the shape, function and ideal proportions. In this book, I tried to demonstrate anatomy in all its immense beauty and provide descriptions of various techniques that can help artists learn to draw human bodies. Just as there is no correct or incorrect anatomy, there is no correct or incorrect way to reflect it <...> realism, of course, is not the only way to draw anything: abstract scales, the minimum number of strokes or expressive children"s sketches can also catch the nuances of the individual. The practical advice presented in this book will help in the development of what some call the “technical”, “realistic” or even “academic” pattern, ”Jennifer Crouch
