The catalog was published for a retrospective exhibition of works by the famous French painter Albert Mark (1875–1947), held in the museum from September 27, 2016 to January 8, 2017. The Parisian master was associated with friendship with Henri Matiss, Georges Ruo, Raul Dufi and Andre Deren, the peculiarity of his manner was manifested in a combination of plastics of a dynamic, relaxed smear and a harmonious palette with a gamut of complex color solutions. The exposition of the work of the brand in the MHIM supplemented the materials that allowed us to take a fresh look at the connection of his work with Russia. In addition to his works, the exposition includes the works of representatives of the Moscow group “13” and the Leningrad association “Circle of Artists”, who solved plastic tasks in their landscapes, close to the search for a French painter
