The Austrian writer Christine Netlinger wrote a very funny book - "Family Roman", which would be nice to read not only to children, but also to adults. Once a respectable Austrian family of Hogelmans, consisting of mom, dad, grandfather, two boys and one girl, discovers a strange creature in his kitchen. It looks like a pumpkin-gogur, and even with a crown on his head. Speaks in a broken human language. He considers himself the king of the lower basement, which the subjects expelled. He orders to love himself and complain, as well as to take care of him in every way and feed the sprouted potatoes. Children and adults who fell into such an absurd, funny and directly fantastic situation behaved differently. For example, the father of the family is literally driving a nose. Despite the general entertaining intonation, the book is undoubtedly very instructive and multifaceted: it is affected by pedagogical, psychological, and even political topics. But the main thing is the problem of "fathers and children". Christine Nystlinger allows his readers of any age to look at themselves from the side - seriously, but with a smile, and at times - with an infectious laugh. During a friendly family reading, the book will give great pleasure both with its enchanting plot, and the brilliant translation of Pavel Frenkel, who created unexpected word -turnover and syllable, and dynamic drawings of the master of book illustration of Mikhail Skobelev. If a conflict situation has ripened in the family (expressed by the language of the cucumber, "times have nominated"), perhaps his lordship of the skull will teach children to make independent decisions. And adults will begin to respect the interests of matured children and learn to notice the "royal" features: petty subsidiability, excessive conceit and the habit of home tyranny. It is recommended for children 8-12 years old, as well as their parents
