The monograph is dedicated to the study of the contract of donation in case of death in Roman private, pre-revolutionary Russian, Soviet, and modern Russian civil law. In addition, the work examines the legal regulation of mortis causa donatio in the civil legislation of Austria, Germany, France, and Switzerland, as well as in the Model Rules of European Private Law. Based on the application of historical and comparative legal methods of scientific analysis, the author justifies the conclusion that, unlike modern Russian civil law, European legislation in regulating such transactions, in general, no longer corresponds to the level of development of modern civil law science and the needs of property turnover. The book is addressed to specialists in the field of jurisprudence, history, and philology, as well as to a wide range of readers.
