Who doctors are seems to be well known - they treat various diseases, help, and sometimes make people lead, according to their knowledge, a correct lifestyle, contributing, to the extent possible, to the longevity of a particular social structure. But there is one significant feature of the role and place of doctors in society - it is the direct contact of the doctor with people, their concerns and problems, the opportunity (unfortunately, more often only sometimes, very rarely) to make their lives better, i.e. happier and more promising... And what about historically famous doctors - did they influence politics, and if "yes," what was primary in their activities - healing or the desire to help society find the path of truth? When analyzing their activities, it is sometimes (and perhaps more often) difficult to separate these two factors, as intertwined as they are. This prompted the author to try to find out: what is primary - the chicken or the egg, what circumstances - social and/or family - involved the doctor in public activities, did this combination help him, etc.
