The monograph is devoted to the life and activities of the outstanding obstetrician-gynecologist Dmitry Oskarovich Ott. A graduate of the imperial medical and surgical (now - military medical) Academy, in its walls, which began scientific and pedagogical activities, D.O.ott stood at the origins of domestic gynecology, was directly involved in the organization of the first in Russia of an obstetric and gynecological society in St. Petersburg, publishing "Journal of obstetrics and female diseases", holding the congresses of obstetricians-gynecologists. D.O.ott is the head of the largest domestic obstetric and gynecological school.
