The collective monograph is devoted to the urgent problem of linguistics - the ratio of concepts of style and discourse. Leading scientists of Russia, Austria, Poland, Belarus, Lithuania, Ukraine pose acute discussion problems: what is the style and what is discourse? Is taxonomy of discourse possible and does it coincide with the taxonomy of the functional styles of the literary language? What is the future of stylistics and discourseology - competition or convergence? The very setting of these discussion topics is very important for the development of the theory of modern linguistics, uniting traditional style and relatively new discourse and communicativeness. Theoretical problems are studied by examples of various types of discourse. A feature of this monograph is its discussion character: the final conclusions are not drawn in it, on the contrary, it poses acute problems that are proposed by the scientific community for further discussion.
