The real edition included the literary works of the famous Lithuanian poet, philologist, translator, essayist Thomas Ventslov: collections of "Articles about Russian literature", "Articles about Brodsky", "Articles of different years". The reader will find in the book the author’s research on the work of L.N. Tolstoy, A.P. Chekhov, poets of the 20th century: Carolins Pavlova, Marina Tsvetaeva, Boris Pasternak, Vladislav Khodasevich, Vladimir Korvina-Piotrovsky, etc. The final part of the book is the collection "Unrestrained balance: eight Russian poetic texts" (developing ideas and methods of Yu.M. Lotman) , a doctoral dissertation of the author, defended by him at Yale University (USA) in 1985. The collection was published in the form of a separate book and was used as a textbook of poetics at some American universities
