The teaching on passions, which was known to many experienced Christians in ancient times, is now, to our bitter regret, practically forgotten. Even the names of passions are unknown to most people. Even fewer know their opposite virtues. Passions, like weeds, need to be weeded out in the garden of one's heart, while virtues, like good fruits, need to be patiently cultivated, because passions and virtues displace each other and cannot develop together.
This guide is a practical instruction for a Christian who wishes to combat their passions. It allows for diagnosing the diseases of the soul (passions), determining which ones are most developed, and therefore more dangerous, seeing in which specific types of sins they manifest, in order to plan methods of spiritual healing.
The diary is compiled based on the works of the holy fathers and adapted for the modern person. With its help, one can learn to notice sins, fight against them, and prepare for the sacrament of Confession.
