By this collection, we begin the publication of the diaries of the Archbishop of Saratov and Wolish Pimen (Khmelevsky, 1923-1993) The first release includes records of 1955-1957, when Vladyka Pimen headed the Russian spiritual mission in Jerusalem.
The book is illustrated by photographs made by the author of the diaries in the days of his stay on the Holy Land. The appendix publishes a number of documents from the Saratov diocesan archive relating to the activities of the Vladyka Pimen in the Russian spiritual mission, as well as the materials of the magazine of the Moscow Patriarchate
