Today in correctional pedagogy, there are various methodologies for conducting diagnostics and establishing a speech diagnosis. However, the precise establishment of a speech diagnosis takes a back seat when a child comes for correction, as each structure of the disorder is individual. Typically, a child has combined disorders, making it extremely difficult to differentiate between primary and secondary defects, and undoubtedly complicating the diagnostic process. Therefore, the precise diagnosis in practice does not solve the main task of developing a correctional route.
Today, a speech therapist-special educator faces the challenging task of not just diagnosing, but determining the mechanism of the disorder. To solve this task, the specialist must possess knowledge from various fields such as neuroanatomy, physiology, deaf-blind pedagogy, neuropsychology, child psychology, and others. However, it is not enough to simply gather all the necessary data to determine the correctional route. The task of this book is to explain the principles of diagnostics, teach how to analyze information, and correctly interpret results.
The book is intended for correctional educators (speech therapists, special educators, deaf-blind educators, etc.), teachers of special groups and kindergartens.
