The course “Development economics: models of the formation of a market economy” is the first Russian textbook on this discipline. The basis of the textbook is lectures read by the author in the State Unitary Enterprise, the National Institute “Higher School of Management”, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk and Tambov State Universities and a number of other universities in Russia and gained widely known thanks to publications in the journal “Economics issues”. Keynesian, neoclassical, institutional and left-wing models of the formation of a market economy are considered, the latest trends in the development economy, the origins of the South Korean and Chinese “economic miracle” are analyzed. The advantage of the textbook is that Russia"s problems are given in the context of the development economy. The original strategy and tactics of Russian economic modernization are proposed.
