The most famous pirate novel was conceived by R. L. Stevenson (1850-1894) during a game with a foster son. The painted map of the island brought the writer to write an adventure book - "A funny story for boys about pirates, battles and treasures." The novel brought the writer world fame and became a classic example of adventure literature.
