Rene Reimond, known to the whole world under the pseudonym, James Hadley Chase, left the family of a retired British officer, and his father forgave Rene a career as a scientist. But at the age of 18, the future writer left his studies and left his parental house forever. I tried a lot of professions before he became an agent in the distribution of books and thoroughly studied the book business from the inside. Subsequently, Chase recalled: “... I had to knock at least a hundred thousand doors, and each of them could meet any of the characters of his future novels ...” During almost half a century of writing, Chase created about ninety novels who enjoyed unchanged success among readers of different countries, and about fifty of them were filmed.
