The mysterious Mr. Harley Kin appears and disappears suddenly. No wonder his name is so similar to "harlequin". He always acts as a friend of lovers, but his appearance is associated with death. This book includes twelve stories (mystical and not very) about Mr. Keen. Agatha Christie herself considered this mysterious Harlequin one of her favorite characters.

The most famous story of the collection - "Witness of the accusation" - was converted into the play. The film of the same name - the film adaptation of this story/play was shot in 1957 and is considered one of the best detective films in the history of cinema.
