This unequal battle became the legend of the Afghan war - on April 26, 1985, exhausted but not broken Soviet prisoners of war, interrupting the warders, raised an uprising in the Pakistani Badaber camp. Only two dozen of our soldiers, who were covered only by the walls of the old fortress, were opposed by hundreds of Afghan Mujahideen and regular units of the Pakistan army led by American military advisers.
