The psychological thriller with the abduction, examining the nature of evil, the strength of patriarchal foundations and female vulnerability.

Once August evening in Kamchatka two sisters of 8 and 11 years. Suspicions fall on the representatives of the indigenous peoples of the peninsula, but a police investigation leads to a dead end ... So this novel begins. Subsequent chapters introduce us to women who, one way or another, knew the kidnapped children.

The novel consists of 12 plots, which are not at first not interconnected. A full picture of what is happening is gradually emerging. While the mother of girls is trying to live on, neighbors, witnesses and investigator are experiencing their dramas. And all this against the backdrop of the isolated, northern, unusual beauty of the Russian Far East: the heroes are surrounded by volcanoes, tundra and wild ocean.

What does this book make to think about?
About the vulnerability that accompanies female dreams.

About the strength and at the same time about the restrictions of traditions and tons.

About how the fear of loss leads to all of us, about the desire to avoid evil at all costs, to pass by him along the tangent, remaining “witnesses”.

About the opposition of the words “your” and “alien”, about how difficult it is to be an outsider.

from the author (from an interview with the Daily poster)
The main idea that I came to and around which I eventually built my novel is this: violence or evil does not necessarily take the form of physical injuries. It begins with the words, with the formulations that we do not pay attention to, but which create the conditions for the most terrible ... That is why it seemed important to me to explore various little things in the novel, which ultimately lead to violence.

I immediately realized that he would be about how diverse violence against women, and various, regardless of the social class, ethnicity and sexual orientation.

My favorite books - no matter who and when they were written - all about the same thing. The fact that terrible things are happening to us, and sometimes we do the terrible things that destroy us in relation to each other. Nevertheless, we continue to live, and it is impossible to kill this thirst for life. And I myself write about the same.

Why did we decide to publish this book
It seemed extremely interesting to us an unbiased view of Russia from the side, the study of our life from a foreigner, fascinated by people and nature of Kamchatka. In the editorial office we know and love this remote mysterious region, and therefore we could not pass by a subtle psychological novel about its inhabitants.

For whom this book
For lovers of subtle psychological prose, covering female problems. For everyone who is interested in, how foreigners studying our country see Russian life. For lovers of thrillers in which the dynamics gives way to psychologism
