The third book about Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson and the first collection of stories about them in the series "Biss Arthur Conan Doyle".
Sherlock Holmes is taken to investigate the most confusing affairs, who are too tough for police officers from Scotland Yard. Its customers are most often ordinary citizens, but it happens that aristocrats, members of the royal family and even the king of Bohemia also turn for help.
The collection includes 12 small stories that began to be published in the British magazine "Strand Magazine" in July 1891 with illustrations of Sydney Page. It was Page who invented the appearance of the famous detective, who later became canonical and familiar to readers. The prototype of Sherlock Holmes was the younger brother of the artist.
The publication contains 104 black and white illustrations of Sidney Page, as well as color illustrations of contemporary artist Natalia Mikhalchuk.
