1950. In the vicinity of Pskov, shooting of a historical film is planned. But on the very first shooting day there is a tragedy: the director of the film dies directly on the site, poisoned by poison. The investigation was entrusted to the head of the operational department, Major Pavel Zverev. He interviews witnesses and finds out that almost all film group actresses had a serious reason to count with a loving genius. However, this version is awarded with new killings that followed the first. Zverev concludes that the killer is not at all an offended actress, but a calculating and cold -blooded murderer
