A series of color lithographs “On the River”, published in 1928 with poetic signatures of A.I. Vvedensky, stands apart in the work of E. Evenbach. This work is considered its best achievement in the book and a vivid phenomenon in the graphics of the 1920s. Here you can find production motives, but first of all, before us is a penetrating hymn to beauty and the grandeur of nature, recognition of love to the ancient city and its environs. The cycle is based on the impressions of Novgorod, where the artist came in his student years. “Novgorod became the foundation of all my work. And here my children"s books were born.
