The famous judge Dee, Chinese "Sherlock Holmes" - in a series of brilliant "Chinese" detectives of the famous Robert Van Gulik.
The plague is rampant in the capital of the Middle Kingdom.
Judge Dee has to not only manage order in the city, struggling with the gangs of looters, but also unravel two mysterious deaths that occurred one after another. Both of the dead are eminent townspeople, but if one was famous for his piety, the other, according to rumors, used to have fun in bullying of women. Judge Dee decisively and skillfully takes up the case. Next to him, as always, his faithful assistants, one of whom, in the process of investigation, will even decide to marry a participant in events - a girl with "heavy sleeves".
Judge Di Jenzze (630-700 E. E) - a real character, famous as an unsurpassed master of disclosure of complex crimes.
Later he became the hero of the detectives popular in China. Inspired by them, in the middle of the 20th century, the Dutch orientalist and writer Robert Van Gulik created his own cycle of detectives with Judge Dee in the title role
