The novel Glass Houses continues the series of investigations of senior inspector Arman Gamash. This charming character was created by the pen of Louise Penny, the only five -time laureate of the Agatha Christie Prize in the world.
In the village, three pines cheerfully celebrate Halloween. However, the festive mood fades away when a strange figure appears in a black mantle and in a mask in the village meadow. The police inspector Gamash, wanting to understand what kind of person it is, is trying to talk to him, to take away. But the stranger is unshakable, although it seems that he does not intend to harm anyone. It turns out that he depicts a Cobrador - a Spanish collector of debts, who in the Middle Ages persecuted the debtors, silently calling for their conscience. To whom did the cobrador appear in the village of three pines? While this issue is occupied by local residents, the stranger disappears, and in the basement of the church they find a dead body in the costume of the debt collector. One of the guests who came to the holiday was killed. The motive of the murder is unclear, but it seems that the victim saw what was not intended for prying eyes
