Rene Reimond, known to the whole world under the pseudonym, James Hadley Chase, left the family of a retired British officer, and his father forgave him a career as a scientist. At the age of 18, the future writer left his studies and left his parental house forever. He tried a lot of professions before he became an agent in the distribution of books and thoroughly studied the book business from the inside. Subsequently, Chase recalled: “... I had to knock at one hundred thousand doors, and for each of them I could meet any of the characters of my future novels ...” During almost half a century of writing, Chase created about nine -ninety novels that enjoyed the unchanged success among readers of different countries , and about fifty of them were filmed.
