In the middle of the abandoned Swedish swamps is the village of Mossmarken, where people have come from ancient times to leave the offers of the gods.
The village is fraught with terrible secrets, because for many years the local residents disappeared on the ominous swamps of Mossarken. They were found after a few years with a bag of coins in his pocket.
Young Biologist Natalie Strings for the study for his dissertation returns to the once native place, from where she left after a terrible family tragedy. There she meets Johannes, a student of the local college.
One night, after a storm, in a swamp she finds her new friend unconscious, and in his pocket - a scattering of gold coins, nearby - a fresh grave.
This find gives a frightening reason to start the study of the past - both for the police and for Natalie.
The swamp longs for new victims, as the locals say? Or is the terrible evil that lurks in this little village has human nature?
