Diamonds for the dictatorship of the proletariat

In the novel by Julian Semenov, “Diamonds for the dictatorship of the proletariat”, the action takes place in 1921. The young Chekist Vsevolod Vladimirov (he, in the future - Isaev and Strillers) has been entrusted with an investigation to theft in the Revel of precious stones intended by the Government of Revolutionary Russia for sale.
The writer managed not only to build an exciting detective story, but also to show a picture of a complex time in all its inconsistency. Each acting person has its own truth, often incompatible with the truth of the other, and there is no simple recipe - how to do the right side, which side is to take, how far you can go in the fight.
Based on the novel in 1975, the movie of the same name was shot
