The “Chronicles of the Investigation” is a collection of seven detective short stories, the action of which takes place parallel to the action of Nikolai Svechin’s novels "Testament of the rebellious Avvakum" and "Hunting the Tsar". The fearless detective of the Nizhny Novgorod police Alexei Lykov and his friend and colleague of the state adviser Pavel incense investigate things - one more confusing more than the other: about the gang of horse -drawn, about the village of strands, about the murder of a gymnasium student, about the mysterious treasure of Emelyan Pugachev, about the poisoning of the merchant to poisonous quails and also about the murder Apotrarian-Harvester.
