In the stomach of the shark caught near Glasgow, they find a bottle with a message. The paper is corroded by water, but some words and part of the coordinates can be disassembled: Captain Grant suffered a shipwreck somewhere on the 37th parallel. Lord Glenarwan decides to go in search of him. His wife, the unlucky geographer Jacques Paganel and the children of Captain Grant, sixteen -year -old Mary and twelve -year -old Robert, are launched with him. The heroes cross several oceans, cross the Andes, survive an earthquake and flood, as well as a meeting with runaway convicts and natives-lovers.
