Oleg Monakhov, nicknamed Monk, calling himself a psychic and magi, was an avid traveler, but after a car accident he had to linger in the city for an indefinite time. Only private investigations, which he leads together with his friend, journalist Alexei Dobrodeev, save him. The city was shocked by a series of cruel crimes - at first the famous showman and organizer of beauty contests Yanik Rebrov died, and after a couple of days his girlfriend Anfisa was found dead. In parallel with the police major Melnik Monk and Dobrodeev began their own investigation and realized: traces of crimes lead to the art gallery, where they all recently attended the presentation of the works of the famous American artist Mark Ritter
