This book contains stories recorded from the words of a desert monk named Alexander (Bloom, 1941-2016) about his life in the monasteries of the Holy Land, about the provocative meetings with now glorified holy ascetics and simple pious laity. His narratives lead the reader into a fascinating and only partly world -known world of monastic life, striving gradually and inevitably in eternity. Each story of this small collection is edifying, instructive and touching in its own way.
