The demonstration materials "Russian Painting. Narrative Paintings" are intended for children to be viewed together with a teacher with the aim of cognitive, artistic, and aesthetic development of the child, introducing them to art. The demonstration materials contain eight reproductions of genre paintings by Russian artists of the 19th - early 20th centuries. The accompanying text on the back of the reproduction includes a brief biography of the artist, with special attention given to their childhood. After all, the brightest childhood impressions are reflected in their later artistic works. The masters whose works are collected in the folder have a lot in common. The desire to draw appeared in them at an early age. And it doesn't matter that there wasn't even a pencil at hand - drawing can be done with charcoal or juicy berries. But each boy met his own teacher who saw talent in him, helped him believe in himself. The accompanying text also includes memories of the artist from their friends, students, the story of creating the painting that they are about to get acquainted with. This information is addressed to the teacher and will help create a vivid and memorable image of the creative person - the artist - for the children. Discussion questions will help the teacher organize an engaging conversation about the painting. Children will learn who the main participant in the events is, and who are the spectators, whether the action on the painting is developing rapidly, whether the characters are talking or getting by without words. The discussion will also focus on the visual means and techniques used by the artist. Children will think about why one artist's palette is restrained and muted, while another's is bright and festive. The creative task will help the child reflect on the impressions received in their own artistic activities. Children will try to draw flowers so that they resemble cheerful kids, trees so that they resemble heroes, and the sun so that it absorbs all the bright colors of the earth. The demonstration materials are intended for classes with children of preschool age.
